DC Mission Trip-Day 1

Yesterday was a great start to our trip. We all got up around 8 AM and headed over to a great DC breakfast spot within walking distance of where we are staying. After we got our fill of waffles, pancakes, omelets and sausages, we headed over to Church at the National Community Church. It was a great time of fellowship as we learned about sharing our story and how that draws others into relationship with us as we share our own story. After church we headed to Baltimore to enjoy the National Aquarium.
We enjoyed the relaxing afternoon of walking around the aquarium looking at all these exotic fish, puffins, sharks, and of course the dolphin show! After the aquarium we walked just a hundred yards to the Hard Rock Cafe and had dinner and community with each other. After dinner we headed back to DC to have our first team time of the trip.
Our team time was amazing. The focus of the night was to share what we were excited about, what was maybe holding us back from sharing the gospel, and how to eliminate those fears. We saw a ton of our guys speak up and share about their excitements their fears and what's holding them back. It was an amazing time as we watched God show up and prepare us for the week ahead of us and also bring such great breakthrough in our team on the very first night!
We got to learn a little bit from Romans 6 last night and we felt that it was something that energized us for our mission for the week!
"We know that our old self was nailed to the cross with Him in order that our body of sin would be made ineffective and inactive for evil that we might no longer be slaves of sin."-Romans 6:6.
Today we head out to Kids Konnection and towards another incredible day in DC. Be praying for the Spirit to lead us like never before. It's going to be another amazing day.
